Professor Lutz Kaufmann
Lutz Kaufmann is professor and chair of International Business & Supply Management at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management since 2001. He is also Director of the WHU Campus for Strategy & Leadership Conference.
Professor Kaufmann studied business administration at the University of Giessen (Germany), where he received his first and second doctoral degrees (Habilitation). He also holds an MBA from Kansas State University (1990), where he was a Fulbright scholar.
Professor Kaufmann’s activities bring him in touch with executives from around the world. He has been involved in program direction, teaching and coaching for companies including 3M, ThyssenKrupp, Haniel, Merck, Merz, Renault, L’Oreal, Henkel, Volkswagen, Philips, and MAN. He also heads a working group on corporate strategy, where the heads of strategy and business development from some 20 German companies meet biannually to discuss current trends and challenges.

Professor Ely Paiva
Ely holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1986), a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1994) and a Ph.D. in Administration from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1999). He is currently Full Professor at Fundação Getúlio Vargas, Sao Paulo. His research interests are operations strategy and supply chain management. Author of the book Manufacturing and Operations Strategy.

Professor Dayna Simpson
Dayna is a Professor of Responsible Operations and Supply Chain Management. She conducts research mainly with business around issues of responsible procurement, on issues such as supply chain-scale labor governance, waste reduction, and supplier diversity. Her most projects include a global study of corporate awareness of the complexities of modern slavery risk; the effectiveness of supplier diversity, equity, inclusion programs; and consumer perspectives on product reuse and recycling. Dayna is also a member of the Trafficking and Slavery Research Group (TSRG), a Business School-Arts collaboration for improving corporate responses to modern slavery risk.
