New Paper: Kim Sundtoft Hald, and Martin Spring on 'Actor-Network Theory - A Novel Approach to Supply Chain Management Theory Development.
In this paper, the authors present Actor-network theory (ANT) as an alternative perspective to supply chain management (SCM) theory development. The authors show how adopting ANT allows a radical alternative conceptualization of the supply chain and of SCM itself, and discuss the methodological implications of adopting ANT for research in SCM. The authors demonstrate how ANT provides a complement to existing approaches to SCM theory development enabling new insights into: The dynamic and fragile character of supply chains, how people in SCM roles really act, the role of non-human actors in managing the supply chain and the emergence and unfolding of power in the supply chain. https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/jscm.12296
